Why is distracted driving so dangerous?
According to the Illinois Department of Transportation, more than 1,000 accidents were caused by distracted drivers in 2008. Multitasking takes your eyes off the road and your hands off the wheel, reducing reaction time of drivers under 24 years by 35 percent. It only takes a second to cause a serious auto accident injury, so we urge parents to talk to their teen drivers about the dangers of distracted driving.
