Kathy was born in Spring Valley, Illinois, and grew up in a small town in Peoria County, Illinois. Kathy made the Dean's List several semesters while attending the University of Illinois and graduated from the U of I in 1978 with a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts & Sciences. Kathy then attended Southern Illinois University School of Law and received several awards for academic achievement in various classes, attended the University of Illinois Law School during the summers, and graduated Summa Cum Laude from SIU School of Law in 1982. Following graduation from law school, Kathy worked for a small general practice firm in Peoria, and then law firms in LaSalle County and Champaign County, where she handled personal injury and workers' compensation cases at various levels including the Appellate Court. Kathy then joined Kanoski & Associates in 1995, where she has concentrated in workers' compensation cases. Kathy has spent her entire legal career defending the rights of injured workers and enjoys helping them understand their rights while receiving needed medical services from their injuries, as well as the benefits they’re entitled to receive.
