The leading rule for the lawyer, as for the man of every other calling, is diligence. Leave nothing for to-morrow [sic] which can be done to-day [sic]. Never let your correspondence fall behind. Whatever piece of business you have in hand, before stopping, do all the labor pertaining to it which can then be done.
The Collected Works of Abraham Lincoln edited by Roy P. Basler, Volume II, “Notes for a Law Lecture” (July 1, 1850), p. 81
Mr. Ewick earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Indiana State University in 1998 where he graduated cum laude. He worked full-time in the Court of Appeal of Indiana and later for the Marion County Superior Court while attending law school at Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. During law school, he made the Dean’s List several times and earned his Juris Doctor in 2002.
Mr. Ewick was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 2003 and began his legal career working for the State of Illinois for the Office of the State’s Attorney’s Appellate Prosecutor. In 208 he accepted a position at a Springfield personal injury law firm where tried many civil jury trials as well as numerous workers’ compensation trials. Mr. Ewick learned early in his legal career that workers’ compensation insurance companies have their own financial interest in mind and attempt to take advantage of those who have been injured at work by not providing them with proper benefits such as medical treatment and compensation for lost time from work.
Mr. Ewick strives to ensure his clients receive all of the benefits they are entitled to by law, and he is proud to obtain the best results for his clients either through a settlement or a trial.
Mr. Ewick is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association.
